Cathy Volonnino

Cathy is new to The Artery. As a young girl her grandmother taught her the basics of crochet and a lifelong love began. She is now focused on a more modern type of crochet-chunky baskets and bassinets. Her baskets are as aesthetically beautiful as they are functional. The quality chunky yarn she uses is imported from Poland and makes for a sturdy, yet soft basket. She recruited her husband Sal to help her make wood bottoms for the baskets and they’ve been at it ever since. Cathy also loves working with Merino wool, a luxurious fiber, and hand knits chunky blankets. Personally, she is a new grandmother to a beautiful baby girl and she can’t wait to teach her the “basics of crochet”, and hopefully instill the same love of the art in her!
